I know the Cobra flywheels have an 8 bolt pattern and the GT's have a 6 bolt layout. Other than that they are the same. I believe your current diameter is 11.5 in. which you should take note of. If you are into auto X or anything like that you could buy a lighter flywheel which would allow your car to rev faster. Hope this helps.

98 Cobra's have a 10.5" clutch. I also just ordered a Spec Stage II, and a Fidanza Aluminum flywheel. You do not have to buy the flywheel and the clutch from the same manufacturer as long as they are both correct for the intended application.

I just put the stage 2 on my car this weekend and ordered the alum flywheel to go w/ it. The problem was that Spec sent me the wrong bolt pattern. In 00 ford went to an 8 bolt pattern mid-year, and I have it, spec sent me the 6 bolt. So I had the stock flywheel turned and the guy who did it said with my car being a drag racer and not a scca car the stock flywheel will hold better rotating mass= better launches. So in any event, the alum flywheel is getting sent back b/c I have the LT's now, and i dont want to take that trans out unless absolutly necessary.

I put an 11" SPEC stage 2 and 11" SPEC alum flywheel in my 99 Cobra a few weeks ago. I have a 'vert and 4.56 gear but run on 26"x10" ET Drags. Best 60' before the alum flywheel was a 1.63. I did a 1.62 last Saturday night with the alum wheel. And my ET was 0.1 at least better than with the stock flywheel.

The heavier wheel may help on strips with better traction or with 28" tires. But they gotta help a lot because they slow you down after the first 0.3 second, LOL.

With a 4.10 gear, I am not so sure that an alum wheel would be the way to go. I was skeptical with a 4.56 and ET Drags. Not any longer.

You have to make sure the wheel is drilled for the diameter clutch you have and that it is an 8 bolt wheel.
