Angry Don't buy dynomax headers

I just pulled my engine, by myself and to my surprise, I thought header gaskets was the reason for my exhaust leak, "NOT". The dynomax headers are the big problem with cracks all around the welds, very cheap design. I've had these headers a little over a year, I should have known when I first installed them and watched all the black coated come off in about five minutes after starting engine that I would have some problems. Have anyone had good experiences with any other shorty headers that they recommend.

FRPP ceramic coated or JBA shorties. You get what you pay for.

I recently had FR ceramic coated headers and Bassani X pipe w/ CB installed. The headers are tough to install. I would highly recommend the FR ceramic shorties. The ceramic coating helps to draw the heat from the engine better so you get slightly better performance.

Thanks, I'll check into the FRPP header's. What kind of price are we talking for a set? And what's the best place to purchase.

I believe they are still $320 plus S/H from Steeda. The price is pretty much the same anywhere you look though.

I have seen a lot of posts about mac headers and oil consumption, i would stay away from them. The JBA headers are awesome look great, lasted well and better than expected power. Although they are expensive, remember you often get way you pay for. If you ever sell your car you can take them off and sell them on ebay. Skimping on parts now seems to cost more over the long haul.

I bought my Dynomax headers for $225 when they were offering a rebate a while ago. Put them on when I swapped the heads. Yeah, the black paint flaked off immediately but I hadn't expected it to last very long. They were easy to install, fit perfectly and the quality is pretty good. Yeah, I'm looking for longtubes now and will sell my Dynomax's then but for the minimal gain you are going to get from a shorty header upgrade anyway, it was worth $225 to me. I wouldn't recommend shorties but if you get them, the Dynomax ones are just fine.

There's your happy ending.
