Question I hate these magnaflow tailpipes. What can I replace them with?

I want to swap these irrigation pipe sized tips for some regular 2.5" tailpipes. Where can I get some that will fit? I bought some mac tailpipes one time and I had trouble getting them to fit. Any suggestions?

The magnaflow website lists all kinds of tips in various lengths. You may want to try calling them for distributors. I'm getting my kit and I hope the pipes don't look too ridiculous.

The smallest size that they have is a 3". I thought about just buying some and getting them welded on, but I think that I will just buy some new tailpipes altogether. Maybe I can sell these sewer pipes. lol

Its only my opinion and my taste, but they are a little to "rice" for me.

Where did I put that flame suit?

The magnaflow tailpipes are a puny 2.5" diameter. The tips are 3.5". I don't think that going to a smaller tip is going to hurt horsepower. Even if I had a big block.

I don't first think rice...more like backwoods redneck hillybilly. Does that Bronco of yours have some 4" pipes sticking out the back? You know the look I'm talking about...4" pipes sticking out a foot behind the vehicle saying "Hey, check me out...got me some them duel exhaust pipes!" There are those of us that like a more sleeper conservative look. We're not all 18 anymore. Also, a 3.5 pipe may not look so bad on the '99+ because you don't see the pipe...only the tip shows. On the '98 and earlier, the whole pipe shows and looks like white trash if you're too big. My opinions, of course. And by the way, that "puny" 2.5 inch pipe is all that is really necessary unless you're making a mountain of power. The larger tip on anything less probably should be considered rice.

Hey, does anyone have pics of the 3 1/2 inch tips on an SN-95? Now I'm curious!

docdave22 - I hear you. I think the Magnaflow tips are a little too big. Especially for the SN-95's. I like the OEM look better. I don't know if flowmaster sells just tips, but I like the style better on the Flowmaster CB.

Yeah, that looks so much better. I like people to know that I have exhaust by the sound of it, not the size of my tips.

Not a good angle, but you can tell that they are so big that they look like they point down.

DocDave22,
I just put a Dynomax Ultraflo catback on last weekend. The tailpipes are normal polished SS 2.5 mandrel bent. The section that goes over the axle is aluminized steel. Looks good.

They look better on 99up than 94-98 because of the different bumper design. I with they had brushed stainless tips that looked factory and I hate the hole drilled in the tip.

Yep. Steeda's got 'em here... http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog...components.htm ...for $100 each. That seems to be about the going rate for SS tailpipes.
