Found out why my Auburn Pro died..

Actually the unit looks ok, but the spider gears were in tiny pieces. I am going to not launch above 5000 any time soon. From what i have seen the modular cars tend to launch at high rpms (6000-7000) and that's what causes the breakages, rather than the amount of power the car has. My car is stock except gears, and the spider gears still blew up.

Just FYI

Ouch! What do you think of your clutch/flywheel combo? Cost?

I like the clutch so far. I haven't asked it to hold alot of power yet, but so far the pedal is light(normal) and it doesn't slip. It isn't overly grabby like a more race oriented clutch. It's the dual friction. Price @$320 from Houston Performance. Flywheel is good. I looked at aluminum, but was advised against it for drag racing. The billet steel hits the tires harder but is supposed to get the car out of the hole better because the rpms wouldn't bog down so far on launch. I believe Gene Evans was selling their fms at a discount. Check their website. cost on the sale item was right around $200.
