Automatic 98 GT....Cams??

I came across a deal on some cams and was wondering if it was worth it on a pretty much stock GT(mods in sig..with 3.73s waiting for install). I have also heard some of the problems they may cause(power steering and brakes). I can't take the chance on some major problems happening bc i'm a college student still paying for the car. Any input on cams is appreciated. Thanks

I would pass on the deal. The biggest improvement you can do for your heads is to replace them with a P&P set from a 99 and up Mustang. The current heads you have (me too) are crappy. You can buy a kit for this from "TheGame" that will include the cams. If you just replaced the cams you have into your current heads, the gains would be minimal. Moreover, if you ever get very hi-perf cams and have an automatic, you will probably have to invest in a high stall speed torque converter.

Save up and consider the headswap as a safe and effective mod for your car. Good luck.

If they are PI cams then you can get them and use them if you ever get the 99+ heads for cheap and gain plenty of HP, but by themselves they aren't very useful.

thanks for the replies...keep them coming if there are anymore. And also the deal included a ported intake...not to sure as to how good that would be.
