What is everyone running(E.T & MPH) on a stock 99-02GT automatic!

I took my 2001 GT hardtop, to Searspoint yesterday and ran a disapointing 14.6 @93.5 its an automatic, I wonder if its the track or I have a lemon. Searspoint just added a new paved track and new clocks. friend of mine also has a 2001 GT automatic with a sq-trim 13.5psi, basini xpipe and ran [email protected] Shouldn't that mph be at least 110+. I just have flowmasters and a K&n with removed silencer. Just want to know if anyone that went to searspoint experienced this similar reaction. Is my Mph in ballpark or off by a few and what is everyone running.
thanks

A guy that always hangs out at the track has a 2000 GT Auto with only weld-in flowmaster and he ran a 14.0.. @ 98, but most of the time he is around 14.1-14.3 range.

I know its not a 99up, but I've run at Sears before. Was real slick when I was there, got a 15.1 at 92mph on multiple 2.3 60' times. I think your car should have more than 1.5 mph on me though, even if I have the 3.73s.

They're supposedly doing some remodeling (haven't been up that way), and installing (installed?) a concrete launching pad. I don't know if that's any better for street tired cars, I thought those pads mainly benefited the slick guys.

Edit: when I was there, I didn't see 1 LS1 break 13.5. We had videos of about 20-25 runs, half STS(import), half ST(domestic), lots of LS1s, I'm sure some modified, and not one under 13.5. Maybe a bad driver day, maybe no one could get a good 60' time. Just relaying what I saw. One Z06 ran a 12.4 though, and I think it was stock.

I ran a 13.74 @ 100mph with flowmasters and a K&N w/nittos, and while it's not an automatic.. alot of people think it is, due to the way I power brake and how I can't seem to let off the gas between shifts and all that..

Seriously though, When I had my 91GT AOD 5.0L it ran the best of 14.8 @ 93mph with pulleys and a K&N and get this: 2.73s!! This is with a 215hp car with ordinary tires and worst of all the AOD tranny which is geared pathetically next to a 4R70W (in the 4.6L cars)

Swapping the gears to 3.73s with no other mods netted me the best of 14.4 @ 96MPH -- so the 2.73 to 3.73 gearswap did me good.

Finally- for you to run that with a car that is geared better (3.27s comp. to 2.73s), more HP (215 comp. 260hp w/more torque) and a Tranny that is geared better overall - I would say you need some more practice

while on the subject how do shift these automatics ?do you shift them like the old AOD's (1 2 and back to 1 then throw it in third)or do you just go through the gears 1 2 3?

best i could muster out of it last yr was [email protected] i just took it apart and got it back together the guy at the machine shop found a melted piston ,bad rings, bad retainers and locks, and some bad bearings i got everything put in new that was bad. i never got to tune the car before and ran it like that. i took it to the dyno to get it tuned and the guy at the dyno told me there was something wrong didnt even get to make a pull cause he didnt want to hurt the motor i thought i just needed some tuning he told me the dist timing curve was outta wack bad he adjusted alittle but he told me to get the motor fixed and bring it back i just put the motor in last Sat i'm gonna try to get it running today if i get my distributor back from the machine shop .the guy at the dyno guarnteed 320-350 RWHP and 500+RWHP on the spray getting it tuned right this time gonna break it in on the dyno.

YES... the #1 reason i have it is to calibrate my speedo for the 4.10 gears, but i can tell a difference when i drive the car with and without the "Power Tuning" i get better gas mileage with the Hypertech tuning in place too... it really makes the car much more efficient...

dumb question but how does the powerprogramer adjust to your 4:10's.what affect would you have if you did'nt have that and you put 4:10 gears?i'm putting 4:10's on soon and i want to know if i'm going to run into anyproblems.

My friend's 2k1 GT AOD hardtop (stock to the filter) ran a 14.2 @ 98. It was his first time to the track on his very first run.

Yes, I'd say it's worth it. But like boogerGT, I got it mainly to calibrate for 4.10s. I also use the shift point changes so I don't tag the limiter and correct for the way the 4.10s change the shift points. As for the power tuning, I'm not impressed, but I do use it, sinceI don't have a steeda t/a. The power programmer should hold its value well too, since you can resell it. And it's easy to prove to a buyer that it still works...not like a used chip! I plan on selling mine after I get my Novi bolted on and have a custom chip burned.

Post sounds right to me

With 99 heads, my 96 auto vert ran a [email protected] with a nasty 2.4 60ft. At least your hooking.
