rear end girdle question

I have a Granatelli motorsports rear end girdle on my 2000 gt and ever since I put it on I have noticed a "clank" when I turn or hit even the smallest bump. Is the sway bar hitting the cover? It is real close to it but I haven't heard of not being able to use your stock sway bar with a rear end girdle. Any input on if this is the problem or if you have had a similar problem would be helpful. Thanks

Just get under htere and take a look if it is hitting you will see nice bright aluminium where it is touching. All you will have to do is clearence the cover with a file/grinder where it is touching.

Do you have the pre load bolts with it? If so, how hard did you torque them down? You shouldnt hear ANY noise coming from it.

Yes it has preload bolts and i did not torque them down too much just enough to be snug. I don't see any shining spots on the cover but I will look a little closer tomorrow. Thanks for the help.
