how to get more slack out of 98 gt clutch pedal

a buddy a work just did a clutch install on his friends 98 GT and said it was not a problem but when his friend drove it he said it need more slack in the pedal. right now it will grab were it sits at rest. he wants about and inch more travel before the clutch will engage. now i know the pull the clutch pedal thing in the manual but that is to take up slack he needs to put more slack on it. anybody have any idea how to do this. it is a bone stock mustang with standard autozone type replacement clutch. thanks in advance

Your first mistake is going with a Autozone clutch replacement, you only use them for brake pads. You will probably have to get a adjustable quadrant, Steeda is probably the best one for your money saving clutch set-up..A piece of advice if your gonna do a clutch job try to at least up-grade to a King Cobra or go with the same Ford Stocky, no doubt you will be doing another clutch change within a year...DA Snake boy!!!
