Nitto Drag Radial

Me (2001 GT) and my cousin (2000 GT) are looking to buy some Nitto tires (275/40/17) for the back only. We want to get the maximum grip out of a tire so we decided to go with Nitto DR. We also heard that the BFG's KD were also amazing but the price is almost double then the Nitto's. Anyways, my question is, how long would the Nitto's last me?

Note 1: I only use them in the summer (obviously) which only last about 7 months over here.

Note 2: We see the track only a few times a year

Note 3: This is our everyday car. We will be going through rainning days. How would it perform in the rain??? How bad is the tire in the rain???

Thanks.

I just want to know if these tires are worth getting or else I would have to get harder compound tire for longer lasting and better wet traction.

The Nittos last pretty well on the street. You'll probably get about 6,000 to 9,000 miles out of them - according to how you treat them. Be CAREFUL in the rain, they'll get away from you.

Since you said that you will only go to the track every now and then, I would consider getting a spare set of rims and have them mounted only for drag strip use.
