Unhappy cat got my leather ....

Ok guys...

My convertible window was broken and a cat got inside and decided that the backrest of my leather seat was the "best" scratching post around... Thus I think you can figure out what happened.

There are rips, and tears, and scratches, and scuffs.. and all kinds of other little abrasions into the leather. It is nothing that is repairable, only replaceable.. ( at least until i can find the cat, .. skin it, and use its hide to restretch across for some new leather) I don't think that would go over well with the ladies though, so scratch that thought..

How hard is it to replace that back seat if I just bought a replacement for it? and about how cheap could I find one new, and/or used?

Thanks,
Derek

Sorry to hear about that. Cats suck.

The back seat is very easy to replace. The bottom just has a button that you push and it slides out. THe back part is held in by a few bolts. You might check the Auction Block for a replacement. Good luck.

You might want to consider FR500 covers. They are really nice and contain more leather than the stock. If you go ahead an replace the front, they come with extra bolsters to provide more support. Check an upholstry shop or the ford racing catalogue for more info. For the full package, front and back, including installation - the retail price was $1,000. I came really close to buying the package once.

Sorry for your misfortune :-)

Do you really need a back seat anyways? I just use mine for storage from time to time. Why not got with a rear seat delete kit, or make you own?

I think you need to leave some tuna out in the garage with some anti freeze in it. Then throw the cat into the owners yard!
