You have to replace the entire intake manifold. The aluminum portion bolts on to the plastic portion fromt the bottom. The plastic around the coolant ports is about 3/16" thick. Also, the '02 setup includes new throttle body and t/b spacer. Couldn't tell you what the difference is, and no one could tell me when I posted on this subject about 6 weeks ago. If you don't plan on going with a Bullitt intake, you should do this "mod". I've got pic's of the new intake if you'd like to see some.

This was posted a while back. I don't really think it would do any good for a 99 up, the intake is the same from what I read. The only good thing about it is that if you use it on a headswapped car you have the perfect place to mount the other water temp sensor, instead of using a t fitting or "ghetto rigging" it.

Do a search under Randy Stichcomb, he supplied alot of info about it.

Eric,
Be careful about buying that intake. While it comes with the throttle body and elbow, it doesn't have the aluminum coolant crossover. I have one customer who bought one and we're having a hell of a time finding just the coolant section. Not sure if it's even available seperately. Let me know if you need an intake though. I've got a couple of spares left over from headswap kits that ended up with Bullitt intakes. Let me know if I can help.

I believe the crossover is an '01 Explorer application. There is benefit to using this. It's only a matter of time 'til the plasti-junk that's on there now erodes and leaks. The aluminum crossover prevents this.

What's with the image posting? Why is it showing up with an "Angelfire" banner?
