Dumb T-45 question

does the tranny fluid pour out when you remove the speedo gear. I just wanted to see if I should go buy fluid before I change my speedo gear. Also is there any thing larger than a 21 tooth avaliable?
Thanks

A little fluid will come out with the speedo gear but that should be it. Just a drop or two.

According to steeda, there is a 23 tooth gear.

Thanks

I just put a T-45 tranny in my 97 4.6 T-bird and the speedo is way off. Ford says there is no 23 tooth gear so I will have to try and convince them otherwise. Thanks. Sorry to say the word T-bird here. LOL

Wouldnt be the first time Ford didnt know what they were talking about. I cant believe I almost let the guys at the parts counter talk me into 3.55s.

Realy ? I have only had the T-45 in my car for a week but some times I wish I had gone with 3.55 instead of the 3.73 I have now. First gear is short FUN but short. Sort of like sex LOL

Well, I guess different cars may feel differently with different gears. Im wishing I had gone with 4.10s now.

You may be right ...or differnt gear ratios. My T-45 is a Borg warner from a early Cobra. I'm not sure if there is a difference or not. (?)

Ford is right they only go up to 21 tooth. The white 23 tooth is a Dodge gear.

YEAH Ford only goes up to a certain point, which I believe is for 3:55's. Steeda makes or distributes the gear for 373's, along with other companies.

It would be a little off for the 3.73's with to 8 tooth drive gear your speedo would read to fast. It works perfect for 4.10's with the 7 tooth drive gear.
