Installed new blower bracket...Something wierd happened.

Yesterday I replaced my blower bracket (gen 1) with the new style bracket. I took it out for a ride, everything was fine. I came home, pulled in the driveway and popped the hood. I just wanted to give it one last visual with the engine running. I about crapped, my blower sounded completely different. It was whining away. Before it did not whine; it made a grinding "rock crusher " like sound. Now it just sings away. I have always complained about the lack of whine, compared to grinding.

From the get go the small idler pulley did not spin right. If you held it on your finger, and spun it; it would turn a revolution or two, then kinda bind up. In the end, this thing was nothing more than a pile of bearings and 1 hogged out pulley. It is just so wierd that that little bit of a bind could transmit that much energy to effect the interaction of the gears.

By the way, That belt is a biatch to get around the new bracket.

Kinda wierd but, just thought it was interesting.

Tim
