whoa! Thats awesome for that mph. Good driver is an understatement. So much for worrying about mid 12's for 2v n/a shootout better worry about low 12's.

Great times, what kind of setup is he running? Whatever he's running, he is bad asz driver.

Thanks, it's a 2000 Automatic GT

Dave, through no fault of your own, because I know FFW changed dates, I guess I probably won't be there. I don't suppose you'll let me compete by phoning in my times will you?

I don't know about the good driving, I wound up in the trailer after round 1 due to some poor driving!

Beefcake, congrats on this weekend, your truck looked great.

You can definately get lost in the silver cars.

The combination is basically simple. I took the drivetrain out of my Red car and put it into the 2000. The engine is a stock shortblock 96 with ported 99 heads and cams. Charles Rogers did the valve job and clean up on the heads. It has MAC CAI and BBK Long tubes and thats basically the engine. Still running stock pullies, TB, and Mass-air. As far as the car goes, C-4 with 4000 stall. The 9 inch rear end with 4.88 gears. Anthony Jones front suspension and UPR rear suspension. Most things not needed are not on the car but it still has 2 front seats, stock dash and full carpet. In other words it's not bare metal on the inside Now for the question I know everyone is dying to hear, it weighed 2915 with me in it. The 12.40 was the second pass on the car. Reynolds was the first time the car has been on the track, so I was pleased to say the least. The weather was very non-typical for the south. It was clear, cool, and very low humidity. I wished we could have that weather everywhere we raced.

Yes, I guess it's sad but true, if I would have won on Sunday I would have been the only 300 lb driver to win a NMRA Mod Motor race Jim Bremmer worked extremely hard and we bought parts with weight savings in mind. He was very pleased with the wegh in. I guess he could look at me and tell I haven't lost 200 lbs. or anything. I'll say again, only the essentials are in the car, but it does still have the power windows. We didn't cut the car up trying to get weight out of it or anything like that. Looking on the inside of the car, it just looks like stock GT with no back seat and a tach and gauges inside. The car is actually a good bit lighter than my Fox Coupe was.

so can we get some more details on what all you all use to get the weight that low. I am guessing, brakes and such just kinda curious.

I used Strange brakes and like I said before, the whole AJE Front suspension, Flaming River Manual Steering, all AC, PS, and smog components removed. I use Weld Pro-Stars and MT's. Nothing Exotic, no Carbon Fiber, etc. Everything else was just the same things I've seen posting on here about weight removal. It still has the factory fuel tank. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head about weight removal...feel free to ask about individual components.

Hey John, I'm glad your motor is in. Your motor is really my old motor and I have your good motor in my car now! This all came about one night when Chuck was out of town! I can't wait to see your's run, now I'm wishing I really had your motor.

As far as the Yellow thing goes Mr. Tymensky...Street Bandit is just a derivative of Street Stock and you can check with John Edwards on this but I think I had the original yellow car in the class!
