the GT500 engine can withstand quite a bit of abuse when hit with boost and or nitrous. There are stock block GT500 rolling around putting down well over 1000RWHP. If you want more, the internals can always be upgraded. The block itself is very stout and will hold up to about anything you can throw at it.

rods are a weakest link! E4OD will not bolt up. You would need to used a 4R70W if you want overdrive automatic. Stock gt500 hp numbers are 500, and they weigh close to 4000# with driver so you can base off that.

If you leave the stock rev limits alone then the motor can make tremendous power and still live. Once you start spinning things above that you will need some upgrades to rods to ensure survivability.

To spin them above that without upgrading internals is just asking for trouble.

ok thanks, what type of power could one make with better rods?? and what does it rev to safely??
im not looking to over rev one, just keep it safe but make GOOD power, keeping it SC'd.
