Shelby GT500 values

I came across an 08 GT500 for sale with 21k miles for $37.5k, and I've done some researching to find a good idea of what the true market value is of the car and have come up with some wildly different numbers. Kelly blue book has it at $39.9k while edmunds says $31k. I've searched locally for more cars like it and a lot of places are still asking over $45k+ for GT500s for sale of the same year. Its a car I am mildly interested in, and I will say I am more interested at the edmunds value rather than the kelly blue book value. What are the rest of you finding is a fair value for these cars?

I've noticed the same on the 07-09 models. Values seem to be all over the place. I have seen a couple in the $28k range, some in the $33-35k range, and some asking over $40k. Just don't see them being worth that much, when $45k will get you a lightly used 2011 (two currently for sale in my area), and $40k will get you a 2010.

Then again, I am likely one of the few who couldn't care less that it's a Shelby...I just like the engine/drivetrain in them. However, I do like that they aren't too common around here.

I just looked up what one would cost in my area and Kelley Blue Book comes up as $33K. Wow, that's pretty much the cost of a new 2012 GT.

Give that new 2012 GT 3 years to depreciate and see what its worth then, and I will tell you it won't be 33k.

You're right! And with the new 50th anniversary redesign, it will be worth even less.

I would think a 2008 GT500 with 21K is worth around $34K.

I just picked up a 07 Shelby 500 for $32k with 11k miles. That price seems high to me. I've seen them go for under 30 with 40+k miles on them. Deals can be found, just be paitent.

This is the advice I am going to go with. I wouldn't mind a slightly lower mileage car, plus right now is really not a good time to buy for me. I just happened upon the car and got me thinking about getting one a little earlier than planned.

I just picked up a 2010 with 14k miles for $37K. The car is pretty solid, and in great condition.

I am currently looking for a used GT500 also, and it seems that many of the 07-09s with around 7K-12K miles are in the 34K-36K range. I currently have a 2011 GT with some cosmetic modifications, was planning a SC purchase and received a quote from a local shop, but it seems like I might be better with a used GT500. The search continues

I know of an '08 GT500 here in AL sitting on a dealer lot with only 1,400 miles. They are asking $38K but it has been there for quite a while. Edmunds says the car is worth $32K but my guess is they would not come off the price that much....... have my sights set on a lightly used '11 with the aluminum block and SVT Performance Package or I'd make them an offer myself.

(Edmunds.com says you should be able to buy a Boss 302 for $500 over invoice but I have yet to find a dealer that will sell one for that.)

I bought my '11 GT-500 in Sept 2010 for $3K off the MSRP sticker of $49K+. No additional options except the $300 Shelby car cover. The person who had ordered it ended up backing out of the deal once it arrived at the dealership. The dealer gave me a good deal because he said they would have never ordered one to sit on the showroom floor without the big ticket options. Hence it was a great deal for me.

A good deal is what you want, willing to pay, and will be happy with. The 2011's and up at least, are amazing cars in performance, handling, and even surprising economy if driven normally.

I've had Mustangs as daily drivers since 1970 and this is my best one yet.
