Brake setup:
1997 GT Hydroboost and MC connected to a Fox brake pedal
MM hydroboost fox conversion lines
Gutted proportioning valve
2003 GT Front dual piston and rear single piston calipers, pads, and rotors
I've bled the system twice, I still have almost no brake response even on a gravity roll on a gentle slope in my driveway takes 3-4 feet to come to a stop. Brake pedal return is also sluggish. I am pressing the brake to the floor.
The hydroboost unit has a unique amount of input travel for the output pressure that it generates. This means that it must be used with a brake pedal that has the matching pedal ratio. If you don't do this, the pedal travel could be too long, the hydroboost runs out of travel and bottoms out. Or the pedal travel is too short and the pedal effort is too high.
This is why when we developed our hydroboost conversion kits, we include a new brake pedal. This has the correct geometry to install the hydroboost unit in a Fox and end up with the correct pedal ratio.
It will only work with our pedal and hydroboost adapter bracket.
The brackets used on the 1996-2004 Hydroboost units are for an SN95 chassis which has a different bolt pattern. If you install one of these on a Fox chassis car, the centerline of the booster will be in the incorrect location for the correct brake pedal.
You can't use any SN95 brake pedal. The geometry will not be correct.
