why are a lot of AFM PMS systems for sale?

I just started to look at tuning options on my fox as waiting for a dyno tuner to find some extra time in their schedule is starting to become a pain.
On my 2001GT I used the SCT software to tune my car myself, but the landscape is completely different for these foxes. Having some AFM products already I noticed what they had to offer, but a quick search on here pulls up gobs of for sale ads. This makes me think that the product is not that good.

reasons?

They are great and can be had for cheap. Lot's of people sell them to buy standalone systems. Lots of people are switching over to the holley efi system and the good news is the standalone systems bring the value of the PMS down so they can be had for cheap. You can find used PMS series 4 for $500-$600 or spend $2,000+ for a standalone + laptop (unless you look at MS systems, they are cheap)

Have noticed the same. In some cases you are even getting the A9L ecu and some maf stuff for $500-$900. The newest standalone stuff can easily take you up to the $4k mark if you "need" to upgrade or change some primary components.

Because it's old stuff, and hardly cutting edge anymore! I mean that series 3 was put out back in 06'm the 4 series was a few years later.

That being said, I've got I'm looking to get a system off one of my cars to move over to a Pro-M or the like, but like the others mentioned, $2k ain't cheap.

I bought and sold several PMS over the past decade... It's awesome, and a great entry level tuning device. I've used it, the AEM EMS, and now i'm into the Holley HP EFI.. But I've made 709/750tq at the wheels using a PMS. The things are great.
