Advise on best way to tune 94 5.0

Alright long story short. My buddy bought a 94gt that has a Trickflow head and cam kit. Its got 30lb injectors with a 30lb calibrated Pro-M MAF. Car is still using the stock ECU tune.

Car seems to be running rich and is only making roughly 260rwhp. Which I'm guessing is a bit low for the mods it has.

Not too familiar with what all is availbe for tuning the 5.0 ecu as in my experience with them I just throw in a standalone. He is just needing someting basic to get it running to its full potential.

Thanks for any advise.

Injectors are way too big for what he's got and that power is not too way off if he has stock heads.

Yeah... was thinking he get an sct chip and have it properly dyno tuned. However didnt know if that would work with the pro-m maf or if he would have to switch the maf out to something different?

How do you figure 30s are to big for a hci car?..

Also just take the car to someone who can tune it, doesn't really matter what you use to tune it so long as they know what they're doing. And no the maf and stuff is fine.

Just another slow mustang with a single turbo....

Just doesn't make sense to me. Do you go around trying to figure out other peoples problems? If so that's what you do then so be it.

if its rich, and he has an adjustabel F/P reg, he might be able to pull a pound or two and get it closer...

replaced the 93'ish coupe with a 76 F100, 393, 11.5:1, TEA CNC 205 TW's, custom Hyd Roller, Super Vic, 830 HP, AOD, Edge custom conv., Silverfox SPT-MAC-TB.

Stock ECU should handle it with no chips or special tuning. That's all they had 20+ years ago. Rich rather than lean indicates something else besides the tune.

No way! The ECU is 'tuned' for a specific injector size. 19lb is stock. 24lb for Cobra. Larger injectors will require a tune of some sort.

However, I have had the temp sensor go out and cause a rich condition.

On my Ranger w/5.0/S Trim/36lb injectors, I use an Anderson PMS w/Fox ECU. It is my understanding that the SN ECU was more of a challenge to modify but I have no experience with it other than many convert the SN to a FOX ECU simply because of greater tuning ability and knowledge garnered from others.
