Help! Installing '99 explorer 5.0 / 4R70W into 70 Torino

I'm sure this swap has been done a million times over by now... I'm new to it. I need a ecu (eec-v) that will allow me to run the distributorless ignition and control the automatic transmission. The wrecked explorer I purchased for a few hundred has the pats system and I want to get rid of it.... any suggestions with out me breaking the bank and going to the '93 5.0 ecm and having to run a distributor with a return style fuel system?

The ,302-2v in the Torino now runs ok but the C4 auto is trashed. Wanted to run the stock 5.0L with the efi for my daily driver. I do not need anything special.

PATS sucks!

You need an EEC-V, for sure. Something out of a '96-97 Crown Vic, Grand Marquis, T-Bird, Mustang, Cougar, or Towncar. The harness from one of these vehicles will have the EV1 plugs for the injectors, built in EDIS8, and controller for any of the electronically controlled transmissions.

You could also run an EEC-IV and wire it up for EDIS8. With the right tuning software, you can enable EDIS (because the EEC-IV does actually support it). You'll need the EDIS8 module from a '93 Lincoln Mk VIII or similar vehicle. Then you could run a separate transmission controller from Baumann Engineering or something like that.

There's a few routes to go there.
