MIL limp mode

I will start by saying I have used the search tool extensively, just to find conflicting arguments. I bought an O/R X under the assumption that even with the CEL triggered, the fuel mixtures will be unaffected. All the threads I have read have consistently different statements on this problem. Some say that the car will run like crap, others say that the ratios will be completely unaffected.

So which one is it???
