if i understand correctly, the PIMP system is basically a megasquirt kit that has been built/rebadged by the builder and sold as theirs.

you cant really compare to PMS, apples and oranges, this is a standalone ems, PMS is a piggyback.

of course, like i said the stinger pimp IS megasquirt and best of all... IIRC matt and jerry can get a system to you as soon as payment is made! if your considering one of these systems, you should download the FREE software package to your computer, so you can see what it does. the term DIYAutotune uses for "autotune" is "VE Analyzer live"... same thing.
download here...
MegaSquirt Software and Firmware - TunerStudio - MegaTune - MegaLogViewer

You will need a wideband to make any meaningful use of auto-tuning.

You do need to buy the licensed version of TunerStudio in order to use the VE Analyze Live, but it is not expensive and if you have a wideband there's no reason not to purchase it. It's more than worth every penny.

This true, but if you already downloaded the free version, when you buy the upgrade, all you need to do is enter the code in what you've already downloaded to get the rest of the features added to your software. When I got it, it was around $60 for the upgraded versions of TS and megalogviewer.

I have the PiMP setup in my 5.0L Capri and it's an amazing setup. I realize there other MS systems out there but I wasn't interested in building something myself or running a remote location box...this thing plugs into the stock harness and fits into the kick panel perfectly.

I did an entire write-up on it with some longer term updates...it's really a nice piece...and support is great!

I've seen that...Nice piece for sure but doesn't look like that will fit into the stock location w/o modifications...

Also, I believe the PiMP setup has more features/options...Plus PiMP will work up to 44psi...

What extra features does PIMP offer? Also megasquirt does 44psi too if you get their Map Daddy sensor.

mcafferty had a new/never titled GT in storage, tim brought it out and parked it in front of the showroom with his daytona for a little show time... next thing they knew some guy came in and insisted on buying the GT (which wasnt for sale), evidently money talks, cause the GT is gone! anyhow, im sure he will have the car around the showroom from time to time.

hes got some pics of it here...
