Help with computer swap

I have a 94 5.0 and want to see if I can use a computer programed for a 306 in my 302. The numbers on the computer are 8-5611 and the DC Code is 05031G. And i believe this is the part number...FOAF-14A459-AA. my casr mostly stock with a few bolts ons (headers, intake, Cold air, msd, 3.73, Tb) if that matters. would it mattedr that much that its for a 306 or should I just not put it in?

Probably best to stick with the pcm thats currently in the car now. Get a mail order chip or have it dyno tuned with your current combo if your looking for a little more power or drivability. The 306/302 doesnt matter. Its the H/C/I and other bolt on's that matter when tuning. If your wanting to swap in a pcm that has a tune installed it wouldnt work. The combos from both engines would need to be the same (injectors, maf, cold air, etc.) There may be some guys on here that can possibly tell you if they have better pcm's for those two years other than just a auto vs stick but i dont know. The older foxes had some factory pcm's that were more desirable than others.

You can use the pcm thats in the car. Just need a maf to match the injectors. However i will say that the 94-95 pcm's from what i hear are a bit more sensitive to changes. Nothing a tune can't fix if you did encounter a problem though i doubt you will have one if those two items are properly matched.

Everything seems to be working ok without doing anything....would it be wise to do anything at this point to move the key to work with the new hardware?
