will factory tachometer still work after msd box install?

i want to put my msd6-btm in today. after i put it in, will my tach still work? or am i going to have to put a diode in or whatever to make it work? any other factory electronic problems after you install a msd box? thanks.

Yes, it will work just like always. At least mine did after I installed a 6AL.

No..
The pick up point off the distributor has the same out put as the MSD. The error comes from the tach in the dash.
Wish it were that easy to get it correct.

Installing an MSD has nothing to do with your stock tach at all. Once you have your aftermarket tach installed, you will see how far off your stock tach is.

94 GT C4 transmission, SVO block'd 331, 160# injectors, 2 fuel pumps, 10pt cage and a big turbo

Same here, no problems after my 6AL install. Buddy of mine with an 86 GT though had problems. He sold the car before he ever install that MSD thing to fix the problem with the tach though.
