Ground cables for new carb motor?

I recently pulled my old EFI motor and installed a new carbed motor. The battery is still in the trunk as it has been for years. The battery negative cable goes to the quad shock bracket. That will be the same.

Right now I have a cable going from the block to the swaybar bracket in the engine bay. It is welding cable. The heads are aluminum and I do not have a ground attached to them (on the back of the head). Will I be O.K. with the one ground cable from the block to the swaybar bracket? I do not have a ground going from the firewall to the motor. Thanks.

You'll be fine. In fact, that welding cable ground in the engine bay is probably overkill.
