Fan Recall Problems

I've had 2 of the modules put on- each time I'm good for a week, then the fan stops working when it should (heats way up in traffic, but comes on when I start up cold ?!!).

I yanked the second one myself and called the dealer to say I won't be experimenting with this wonder cure again.

I have to say that Fred Beans Ford (Doylestown, PA) do have excellent customer service - nothing like the horror stories I've heard here. They're following up with FoMoCo, so I'll post the result when/ if it happens.

I had the same problem with the fan, they put on a relay and after driving about 7 miles my car was running at about 250*, I took the car straight back to the Ford dealer and because I have a new sender wire for my temp guage they would not do anything to fix it. I just took off the relay and it has been working fine since then, about 2 months. My reasoning is that since the car was working for the last 7 years w/o it there is not reason to fix something if it is not broke, let me know what is happening with your experience.

Hi, did the dealership get anything figured out with ford on this? Im worried cause I keep getting reminder letters to get it done, but I dont want to blow a headgasket cause of it overheating or something. Then I read about peoples fans melting down cause they didnt get it done.

No word on this yet; I'm not holding my breath.
The fan has been fine for 7 years, so it's low on my list of concerns. Incidentally, I'm running BBK pullies and the guage is always sitting square on the 'N' (in NORMAL), even in our current heat wave- thought I'd mention that since I've seen the subject questioned here before.
