Low Coolant Light

Anyone have a problem with their low coolant light coming on? Mine used to come on all the time. It hadn't done it for a while - but now it came on for my entire drive in to work. My coolant is not low!!!

Any ideas??

Thanks!
Sarah

Ahh, I think I know the answer to this, and it is quite easy. Make sure your coolant tank lid is VERY tight. There's a little groove that the top fits into. Make sure it is flush.

I have had this happen to me several times: the light would come on, with adequate coolant in the reservoir. I shut off the car, tightened the cap, turned the car back on. It's as simple as that.

I hope this solves it.

This is probably one of the most annoying things with the sn95 cars. The sensor does not sit low enough in the resivor. Happens to everyone.

Thanks! I'll check it out. That light is a pain in the butt. I thought I had gotten rid of the problem - but it came back!

Like I said, it has happened to me a bunch of times. Get used to it. It's just a bad feature of the car.

Mine did it yesterday after I got a flush/fill from the dealership. They didn't fill the resovoir up to the line. Check your resovoir, fill it up to the appropriate line (hot line or cold line). That should fix it. If not can't help you. Possibly the sensor gone FUBAR.

The sensor also gets all gummed up and reads as low since the resistance is too high. Just pull out the cap and rod and clean it up.
