installing manual fan switch

does anyone have a web site or step by step instructions on how to install a manual fan switch? i want it to use the stoc setting around town and stuff, but i want to be able to turn it on high so i can cool it off at the track. thanks guys

all you have to do is use a switch to ground the #17 wire coming off your CCRM...i think it is green/purple in color....just splice in a wire....run it to your switch...then run a wire from the other side of the switch to a chassis ground. the diagram above is perfect

so this is for the high speed only? and the ECU will still control it in case i forget?




id like to run mine at low speed at all times. and high at the track

the ECU should still control the fan as before...however i cant say for sure because i never let my motor get that hot

I went with the low speed switch, was not happy with the amount of current the high speed fan pulled. you could actually see the rpms drop when the high spped fan relay pulled in.

i only plan on using the fan when in the pits cooling off. what do you mean you could see the rpms drop when the fan pulled in? do you mean the revs went down when you flipped the switch?

yes that is what I mean. at idle it will damn near stall the car, the lights go dim for a sec. of course my car car idles very low any way.

so do you think it would be bad for the battery to run it with the car off?

unlike the high speed which only needs a ground on pin 17
the low speed needs 12v to pin 14
