Stolen ECM

Ok guys I need help. I picked up a 1988 5.0 Vert from a friend. It was sitting for nearly 10yrs in his driveway. I was hunting down a no fuel pump situation when I went digging for relays I found the ECM was GONE. Harness is chopped and computer is just gone. So now my dilemma is can I get a cheap ECM that will work for an 1988 and how bad is it going to be for me to rewire the ECM plug? Any ideas where I can find an ECM and maybe the plug still connected with some wiring so I can patch this back together??

Your going to be better off with a new (used) harness. Maybe someone who is switching their setups like ProM or Holley will part with their old one for a good price if you donít want to spend the cash to buy a new system. So sorry to hear about the car

How involved is the shortest section of harness? I have too many projects I need to prioritize. If it’s a huge pain I’ll probably just sell the car as it sits.

the 87-88 non-California cars were SD (speed density), here is a link to an eBay used harness for an SD 5.0 Fox, also the lowest price I've seen.
... you could possibly use this to repair your harness.
https://www.ebay.com/i/312253048250?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=312253048250&targetid=54373797924 6&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9010870&poi=&campa ignid=1497308096&mkgroupid=59509629482&rlsatarget= aud-674438128457la-543737979246&abcId=1139476&merchantid=6296724&gcli d=Cj0KCQjw4s7qBRCzARIsAImcAxZQfIccbgVFdCoPV3dCTKKr 6PDfy7BLquMg1_-xRL_gz0eNq4orOh4aAndeEALw_wcB

... you would also need an ECU, another eBay item: DA1 for an 87-88 SD 5-spd Fox
https://www.ebay.com/p/87%2D88%2DFor...15284318&rt=nc

you could also try a U-Pick It, but would need to be an 87-88 SD car. I don't know for sure, but strongly suspect that locating one in a bone yard will be difficult these days. Good hunting.

If you have any intention of ever converting to mass air, now may be the time rather than buying stuff twice.
