LED Dash Light Install.

To start off with I double and triple checked polarity and orientation of all LEDs I installed, and that they do illuminate when powered up. Cleaned all connections with aviation contact cleaner and a new pencil eraser. Used a 12 volt power supply and powered up each circuit to verify continuity on the wire trace and all warning lights illuminate as they should. Background lights turn signal indication and high beam indications are all normal. I get seatbelt warning when key goes from off to on for about 15-20 seconds, and that is it. Check oil light illuminates when key is turned to start position then goes out. I pretty sure that all warning lights should Illuminate when the key is switched to the on engine not running but they are not. I might just go back and install the 194 bulbs in the warning lights, but for some reason I want the LED bulbs to work. Any Ideas????
Thanx!

After checking and installing for the 4th time with no positive outcome I replaced the LED lights with 194 bulbs and all is well. Just can't figure why it doesn't like the LED bulbs.

I was reading this thread with the intention to try and help if I could. Was going to review the wiring diagrams but I don't have a clue what Model Year Mustang we are dealing with.

Glad you got the problem fixed.

Sorry I totally forgot to mention it is a 92 GT Vert. Don't have a clue why it doesn't like the LED bulbs but after changing to 194s all is good.

IIRC, one of the warning lamps in a Fox needed to remain as an incandescent lamp. I'm thinking it was the alternator, but I haven't fact checked this since doing it a few years ago. I left all of my warning lamps (alt, brake, airbag, CEL, ect...) as incandescent, but did change my turn signals and high beam indicator lams to LEDs, along with the dash illumination.

Regards,
Craig
