1998 taillight install & sequential taillights FOR 1995 GT

have a 95 GT and I just bought some 98 taillights. I had a couple of questions. First, how do you install these with the 95 harness? The taillights didn't come with any bulbs or wiring. Also, do any of you know how to convert them to sequential tailligths? I know some places sell kits but they're expensive. Is there an article or something that tells me how to do it myself? Thanks in advance for all the help.

I am getting a set of seqential taillights from Web electric products. www.webelectricproducts.com. They sell for 85 bucks.

I can get a hold of a set of wiring harness's for your car to fit the 96+ tails(comes with sockets, possibly bulbs and the harness itself to plug into your factory harness), it simply plugs into your 94/95 main harness connector.

As far as adapting the 94/95 harness to fit the 96+ tail's, I cant possibly see a way of doing it...

Im sure this place will sell it for around $50~ to me... if you want em email me

Ill find out the exact price for you tomorrow when I go pick up my mirror.

Later!

This is the easiest way to do it. Totally painless and it not only looks factory, it IS factory . MPS gets $50 for each side for the factory harness - that kinda sucks.

I think some places sell an extra socket to add on for the 3rd light. I wish all three lights were brake / tails. I think that's why they sell that socket - for the people doing the sequential tail lights. Classic Design Concepts sells the kit to do it for $265 (you supply the housing). This might be the path of least resistance for you if you are gonna do the sequential tails anyways. Their kit is a plug-in replacement for the factory harness. They'll also give you $75 back to refund the included core charge for your old harness - just make sure you order the kit for a 96-98 (3 bulbs).

Yup - exactly what he needs to have the stock 96-98 tail light setup. It's how I did mine.

He was wanting to do the sequentials which that one place sells the kit for $85 which I figure is a socket and the neccesary flashers to create the sequencing effect. Some assembly required and about $135 + shipping out of pocket assuming he doesn't mind doing some assembly. Not a bad way to go.

If he wants to get something that'll just plug in and be ready to go with his sequenced tail light setup right out of the box, the Classic Designs setup in the 'easier' way to get there. Net out of pocket - about $190 + shipping.

I just replied to your response since you were offering him a much better deal than MPS for the stock harnesses.

Not to sure about how to get the sequential tail lights to work, but as far as the harness you don't really need it at all, only if you literally want the bulb to snap in perfectly to the bezel. There are work-arounds if you don't want to spend $50+ on a 96+ harness. You can just stick the smaller outer bulb in the whole, it won't fit (the hole is bigger than the bulb fitting) but you can rig it up somehow, I just used some strong adhesive puddy (it stays in a semi-hard putty form, still easily removable though, but it sticks perfect) but I've heard of some guys using tape or some other adhesive to keep the bulb on there. Normally I would probably mind riggin' something up like this but think about how many people are going to see that part of the car, then how many of those people will care? Then again, if you know and care about something like that then that's the most important thing I guess, I just didn't see the $50 price tag justified in my case...just my thoughts...good luck man.
