gremlins

Been fighting electrical gremlins for a few months now. I had a bad ECM ground, then a bad ECM, MAF problems, but they have all been repaired/replaced. Now the car all of a sudden has been throwing code 26 and 78, I'm sure if I can clear up#78, the other code will go away. Where else should I be looking at?

Also put a new ECM relay in, but still getting codes.

no such thing as 78

your code reading is flawed

retry, both engine on and off

then list the codes to engine state.

What you call gremlins, are shorts, opens and intermittent shorts and open.....that is all.

with a volt meter you just track them down

"Fix the code 78 first and the other two codes may go away.

Code 78 VPWR circuit to ECC was intermittent or the ECC is bad
Possible bad fuse link, wiring, intermittent ECC power relay or computer .

Carefully examine the wiring up near the starter solenoid for damage or signs of the fuse link melting. You may have to unwrap some of the harness to expose the wiring. The computerís power feed wiring is 14 gauge black/orange. It connects to the fuse link. I believe the fuse link is dark blue."

I found this on another forum courtesy of TMOSS, I have found many that show code 78 as above, others call it re-initalizing test. Not sure what's 100% correct, but it flashes #26, #78. I have however found that most if not all of my tuning problem have come from faulty OEM wiring.
