Ford fan recall killing the fan

A friend got fan recall (E brake also). His fan clicks lightly when turned by hand and he wants a new one cause something's not right. He has lots of mods, will this affect the recall? Also, he wants to kill the fan to get a new one but not if his mods disqualify him. He says 110 volts to the high speed fan wires will take care of things.

Any thoughts?

I just had mine done last week. I told them what to watch out for modification wise. they said nothing. Granted I don't have a supercharger or something. all it is is a fuse block that actually straps to the fan. I don't know how they test the fan, but he needs to show somebody what is up. I don't think they will have any problems with his mods, as long as they don't have to do with the fan.
