Question E-fan Relay Question

Figured you guys might know...

I'm wiring up my e-fan... I need to know if the standard 5-pin relay socket is strong enough to handle the 80A relay I'm hoping to plug into it.

Is there a heavy duty relay socket?

Thoughts?

Thank you Corral!

80 amps (if you're actually flowing 80 amps of current) needs 10gauge wire. You'll have to use your best judgement if you think the connectors are actually intended for use with wires that heavy.

However I rather doubt you're going to see 80 amps of load from your fans.

To keep the voltage drop within limits, #10 wire should be limited to 30 amps. #8 is generally good for 50 amps.
