what plug and harness is this 91 4 banger coupe

The smaller plug is to the washer fluid pump. what is the orange plug and the black plug?
Can I follow this back to the fuse panel and cut them out?

I'm redoing my wiring on mine as well and have run across it. I pulled the cap and found that a few of the terminals are connected by pins inside the cap. Since my harness is completely exposed, I'm tracing it out as I write to determine whether or not I can cut it out.

The orange plug in the upper right of your pic is difficult to see, but it goes to your gauges and contains a switched 12v to your igntion system. Keep it. Brown Connector Also, I traced out the black one. I ended up leaving it b/c the wires ran to all sorts of stuff, ignition switch, gauges, etc. Looks to be an overall PITA to deal with.

The large oval connector with the shorting plug is for the DRLs used on Canadian models.
