Burnt computer from not running a transmission wiring harness

I have a 92 coupe that started life as a 4 banger auto, it now has a 5.0 with a tremec 3550 and a9l computer.

My question is, will my computer fry if i don't run a transmission harness at all?

I just put a push button start in and drove it like that for about 6 months it ran fine but, does have hot start issues i cured that by hooking a toggle switch up to turn the fuel pump off until it fires up, then i flip the pump on. However it does blow the fuel pump relay sometimes.

Recently the car runs like crap don't idle right, runs real rich, and if i floor it or give it more than half peddle it falls on its face, would this be signs of a burnt sigrtn trace in the computer?

I did order a 5 speed trans harness off ebay today so i will hook it up but, is it to late for my computer?

Oh I forgot to mention that i DID rewire the 02 harness to a 92 5 speed before i ever started it.

post is kinda confusing... how long ago did you swap to a TKO?

shouldn't be anything more in the wiring harness then the reverse lights and VSS. There is no electronic control of the trans. Lack of VSS could be giving you some issues but that should be more towards driveability.

I agree... There is no huge difference between a 5 speed and an auto ECM harness.... And the tranny harness just has a NDS switch and backup lights in it. (The VSS is in the body harness and comes from the tranny tunnel...)

Pull codes and see if the computer is complaining about anything.

If you don't have any kind of burnt electronics smell the ecu is probably fine.
