need help with wiring VSS into a '87 non C/C

I've read several threads on the subject and they mention about splicing into the Org/Yel and Grn/Wht wires on the 8 pin connector, located behind the driver kick panel. I found this connector yesterday and both wires are present but they go back into the wiring harness, I have no wires continuing on down to the where the VSS sensor would be (I currently don't have a sensor connector). I also pulled my computer out and checked to see if those same wires were connected to the computer at positions #3 and #6; nothing is connected to those positions.

Does this mean I would have to get a sensor and run the wires directly to the computer and connect to pins #3 and # 6? If so, does anyone know where to get and what type of pin connectors I would need to get in order to pin into the computer harness connector?

FYI... I'm wanting to wire one in because the VSS sensor will allow me to datalog MPH and gear position with the Moates QH. And I do get the occasional stall when coming to a stop (now that I switched to an auto trans).

88 CA and 89+ dash harness has the connectivity for VSS to ECM harness.

If you are using a 87 dash harness it will not work.

you will need to add the wires from the VSS to the ECM inputs.

This is the same for fuel pump monitoring circuit.

I found a vss sensor connector and got the computer pins and wires from a junk harness. I think I gotta get a C/C speedo cable now in order to fit into the VSS sensor.

got it all wired in and works like a champ! At first I forgot I disabled the VSS switch in the tune, worried me when it didn't work. I did have to get a C/C speedo cable so the end would fit in the VSS sensor.
