starter solenoids sticking

have a 92 coupe and for some reason the starter solenoid on the fender is sticking. it done this morning so i replaced the solenoid. started once great the second time i started it, it hung and would not quit cranking even with the key out of the switch. so i thought cheap advance auto parts solenoid and went and got a ford solenoid. Got the ford solenoid on and started once great the second time i started it, it hung and would not quit cranking even with the key out of the switch. a buddy said something in the switch could be messed up. I put a new (not reman) starter on it 2months ago and it has been fine until this morning. it does have the old style starter on it (91-back)Any ideas.

Check the actual ignition switch on the column, it may be sticking in the start position.

Garage
I had the keyed wire slightly exposed and when id crank itwould jump the solinoid and touch the prong for the starter. Doubt its that but it wouldn't hurt to check!

Do you have the line to your solenoid fused? If so that's the issue.
