05 Rear defrost

A friend of mine has an 05 GT and the sodered connection on the rear window defroster came off. So i sodered it back on and it came off again, so I put a new rear window in. It then didnt work and I discovered the fuse had blown. Easy fix. Then the sodered connection came off so i sodered it back on. It now has come off again. The Ford dealer told her that the car has no issuues but I'm starting to think that it gets too hot before shutting off. Anyone else have this problem? It's a hard top. What controlles the temp? The switch?
