93 GT gauge problems

I am having with my temp, volt and oil pressure gauges in my 93 GT. I am looking to replace them with after market. I am not a super mechanic and find that there are several types of gauges out there, electric, analog, etc. I need to know what type the factory gauges are so that new gauges will easily replace factory. Can someone please help with what to shop for in a pillar pod configuration.

thanks

Gauge replacements

There are electricl and mechanical gauges. Electric tend to be cheaper than mechanical. Electric might be a little easier to install, but Mechanical will be more accurate.

Gauge choice is going to have a lot to do with your budget. Gauges are like anything else. You can spend as much as you want. Autometer is the favorite of many and the most popular. They have many styles and prices. Sunpro is another brand. They've been around a while and are cheaper. I do not like the cheap line sold at most auto parts stores, but they make an XT line that you can get at Summit that are really nice looking. Actually I think I saw the XT line at Autozone for around $39 a peice. I almost went with them, but got a deal on the auto meters. I still may put them in my coupe. I like the way the needles look on them.

A good aftermarket electric gauge will be a little more accurate and reliable than the factory one. If your on a budget and are going to install them yourself then this may be the way to go.

I am in the middle of adding gauges to my car. Here are some pictures.
