I don't know if it will help you or not, but I am installing a Holley Commander 950 TBI in my 85 and was looking for this answer myself. What I finally found was to mount my ecu under the drivers seat. The tunnel (at least on my 85) has 2 holes already in the side of it. One is occupied by the tranny harness. The other had a rubber plug in it. I am not sure what it was used for...I think earlier Fox bodies had something there. I opened that hole up to 2" and fed my harness thru there. It is sweet, because it comes up on the top of the bellhousing and except for the tfi connector everything is right there at the tbi or the back of the intake so for all intents, the wiring is hidden. I did go on Ebay and order some High temp wire loom AND one of those velcro aluminized heat sleeves to protect my wiring harnes since it is over top of the headers.
I can get you some pics, all I have right now is a pic of the Commander ECU sitting in the floor with the harness running thru the carpet and another pic of the harness coming up on top of the bellhousing where it comes out.
You can see where the second hole is in the tunnel...like I said it had a rubber plug in it and I just opened it up to 2". The second pic is where it comes out in the tunnel and run up over the bellhousing. I wraped it in a DEI heat sheath that has velcro to fit around the harness. Hope this helps.
