Looking to buy 6 piece gauge set. What's the difference between mechanical and electrical? Which one should I go with?
Go with the electrical gauges the only mechanical one you should use is one for fuel pressure and it needs to be mounted on the out side of the car it can be mounted on the inside but you have to buy the gauge that uses an isolator .
The main difference between electrical and mechanical gauges is electrical uses an sending unit via your wiring or ( wiring you make )to send the info to the gauge a mechanical gauge has fluid sent to the gauge to get the info but if you ever have a leak it will be in the car . Mechanical are a little more accurate but thats all .
Here is a pic of my gauge setup its an old pic but you get the idea .
