Explorer EDIS/89 5L A9L

Was wondering if I could get some direction/help.
Is it possible to Adapt the EDIS Ignition System used on the 5.0L GT40(96&Up)style an 89 5.0L using an A9L Computer.I bought an early 97 5.0L
Explorer Engine with the GT40 Heads and Intake,I was looking at it and
wondering If I could put the motor in my 89 5.0L Shell?Since it uses a
crank trgger, ignition module and cam position sensor I got to wondering if
anyone had experience or could help me out in wiring using an A9L ECM
if its even possible?Input would be greatly appreciated!

Yes it is possible. All you need is a way to turn on the DIS in the EEC, i.e. a QuarterHorse, or any other tuner that can manipulate the scalar.

I've got the parts, but haven't done it yet. There are a couple guys over on eectuning.org that have done it, and one guy did it with a 351C in a Pantera.

I'm from eectuning.org and have done it to an A9L that controls the 400M motor in my '79 Bronco. The harness modification wasn't tough, but do your homework on the schematics. I used a '93 Lincoln as the donor for coil packs and EDIS8 module. You should be able to use the '97 Explorer cam sensor directly. This is an EXCELLENT upgrade to any engine.

Hehe... we did the entire conversion in 2 weeks flat. The biggest issue I found was the crank trigger sensor mounting (which you did for me) and the fuel filters clogging up!
