Wiring problems!

Monster tach wires! red, white, black, green! i ran the red to a add a fuse that i bought to the radio fuse panel! the white to my dimmer switch connected to the LB/R! the black thru my fire wall and connected to a ground out there! the green i have thru the fire wall to my coil light tan/brwn wire! now once i start my car, and hit the headlights on. my lights come on in my tach (VIA) dimmer wire which dimmer switch works also! now the kicker! my monster tach needle does not move, and it stays on 2000 rpm's! is my wiring not right or not getting any power?
