3G output voltage, whats acceptable

I have read and understand the voltage output will drop as the temperature increases. My question is will/should the output voltage stay at around 14.4 volts when running-no load, and is a dvm reading of around 14.6-14.7 too high at start up, or would this be considered within range., Once the black magic fan kicks on, the voltage drops to around 13.2-13.7 volts idling, but didnt seem to increase the voltage when I raised engine speed.

any thoughts ??

You're good. as long as it doesn't spike up over 15 or so, and as long as it doesn't drop down into the low 12's. 13.5 to 14.7 is a fine range. mine does the same thing by the way. also, where are you measuring the voltage at?

i measure both at the alternator, and starter relay, as well as the back of the main inline fuse...all to solid ground reference, and back of the alternator....
