dual fans wiring

i just wired up a contour style dual elec fan using a dual fan control wiring kit from autozone, as soon as i turn key on,the fans start up. i followed directions,it was very simple.should they not run until the probe gets to a certain temp? this is how i wired it:

red- direct to battery(inline fuse)
orange- + fan
blue +fan
black ground
yellow to switched power. i tied the yellow to a red with green stripe that went to my ignition. its the wire that goes into the MSD then the MSD goes to coil. is it possible that the probe has an internal short and causeing it to constantly run when power is turned on?
any help is appriciated. thank you

Fans should not turn on until the probe heats up. Might want to draw up a diagram that shows which pins go where. The colors of the wires don't really provide any info.

Here is how I wired my contour fan. Only thing different from the schematic is that instead of grounding to the body I went to the negative battery terminal. Used a cheap flexalite fan controller and a 5 pin relay. Upgraded alternator. Everything works as it should. No issues.
Hope this helps.
