Piezo Alarm location in 1999 GT- Please help.
I have a 1999 GT- 35th anniversary edition and besides the regular car alarm I used to have this short electronic chirp everytime i would lock or unlock the car with my remote (this one sounds different from the regular car honk when you press the lock button twice).
Then a while back this chirp stopped and I want it back. I have tried a lot of things including the valet button trick and turning the key on and off; unplugging the car battery, scanning with OBDII, etc but nothing has worked. I dont know if there is a small drained battery somewhere or if something else needs to be done.
Does anyone know if a secondary (peizo) alarm came with this model year car and if so, where it would be located in the car (I have searched in all the logical places and havent seen anything)? Or if there is a small battery I need to replace or something? Could this piezo alarm also stop working to indicate that its time for dealer service? If so, what can I do to get it working again?
When I use my remote, the parking lights always flash, if that helps in diagnosis...
Lastly, do you think that if my car battery is slightly weak, would that make the chirp stop working?
Thanks for the help in advance!
