I want to use a thermostat for my fan, not sure how to wire it!

Something like this?
Painless Wiring 30111 - Painless Performance Electric Fan Thermostats - Overview - SummitRacing.com

My question is where would that switch go in the circuit? where do i run the wire from the sender to?

Normally if you are using a stand alone system (IE just a fan and a relay, and not a full blown fan controller) then the temp senders wires will both be grounds, one side to a chasis/battery ground and the other to the relays ground. So in order for things to function correctly wire the relay ignition pwr to #86, Fan positive to #87, battery positive to #30, and temp sender to #85!

Heres a simple diagram to help you out!Google Image Result for http://www.banzai-racing.com/how_to/std_relay_connections_diagram.jpg

LMK if this helped you out!
