Safety of mismatching tires Safety Issue.

I thought I read somewhere that using front skinnies was also for some safety reason? I though it was something to the effect that by using a slick in the rear and a full width tire in the front there can be a safety concern? Can someone clarify this? Safety first for me!

I think it has to do with running a bias ply tire and a radial. I just started running around town with et streets and stock radials up front. At 70+ , you must be smooth, you have so much control up front and a marshmellow rear.
