fast car....have timing questions

My distributor is locked down at 10 degrees initial, and 10 degrees total. It's running high 6s in1/8th with 200 shot. Would I run better with some advance? (New distributor?)

I would think you could run some more timing. 20* isnt alot even with a 200shot. Put in some race gas and crank up the timing. Depending on your combo I would like to see apprx 30* total on the 200 shot.
What dizzy are you currently using? Why is it only giving you 10* mechanical advance? You could bump up the initial timing to 20* if the car will crank over ok. Some will do fine and others dont like it that high.

I used to spray 150 all the time for a couple years on a stock shortblock on pump gas. Used a locked out MSD at 30 degrees. Never burned a plug or popped a gasket. What's your compression? I'd throw some good gas in it, lock it out at 30, and lets see a few more tenths off that time
Just to be safe read the plugs after the first pass (I'm sure you know that).

Anyone can sit in the stands and talk s**t. Get out there and RACE!!!
